This zine does not contain any panacea or dogma, but hopes to galvanize active critical spectatorship within the public to reform parts of our perceived ‘green’ society. I believe that criticism is crucial in every profession and area of discipline. It poses vital questions that disrupts normalisation and enables activity. In recent years, large corporations have constantly conned us into fighting climate change individually through deceptive greenwash tactics whilst they freely pollute behind our backs.Although greenwashing has been around for many years, its use has escalated sharply in recent years as companies have strived to meet escalating consumer demand for greener products and services. All talk, but no action. (basically, professional bullshit)However, there seem to be a new breed of consumers emerging – the ones whom have grown cynical and cold toward these weightless corporate claims. We are living in a world of mass media which daily exposes society’s innate hypocrisy, its contradictions and the apparent failure of almost every facet of our social and political life. So forget about changing the system from the top, we now need a mass movement to apply pressure from below. This zine aims to be an accurate voice for us. We cannot fight climate change alone, but as a community armed with knowledge, we can spark a revolution. Let’s start a green revolution.
